Asthma Allergies

A disease of immune system that is manifested because of certain substance overreacting with the human immune system. These substances might not act as allergens to other people.

The entrance of antigens and their allergic reaction make these particles recognised as Allergens. Precisely, allergens are antigens that cause allergic reaction.

The allergens are eaten or breathed or inhaled, or injected. The immune system sensitive to these allergens react with then and generate asthmatic symptoms like sneezing , coughing, runny nose, wheezing and others. Sometimes it can be fatal.

Different agents are there which catalyse the development of inflamed airways. People other than asthma patients are not even bothered about these triggering agents. These agents are called triggers and they vary from patient to patient on the basis of of their suffering from allergic or non allergic asthma.

Some of the most common triggers are:
  • Allergens
  • Irritants in the air
  • Respiratory Infections
  • Exercise
  • Weather
  • Strong Emotions such as fear, anger or excitement
  • Certain medications
The episodes of asthma occur at intervals. It depends on the kind of triggering agent a person gets affected by and the level of sensitivity also matters a lot. If the patient is not that sensitive to a particular trigger the attack of asthma is delayed.

An asthmatic patient is not forced to live a miserable life. It can be controlled by proper management. And this asthma management programme is developed by your physician. This helps you to a great extent in controlling asthma. Improper care and management will obviously allow asthma to control you.

Various management and controlling technique exist which you can apply to lead a life free from the anxieties of asthma. Natural treatment of asthma has proven to be successful method to overpower asthma.

The medications of asthma are there in two forms: one is quick relief and anther is long term control. Inhaling a medication is a very common technique to control asthma.

A patient can take the medication in form of a pill. Native remedies BioVent for long term control and BronchoSoothe for quick-relief are naturally safe and effective remedies.

They are the part of asthma management programmes. Allergies have been found to be the major cause among children.

History

The origin of word asthma is from a Greek word "aazein" which means "sharp breath." Although the literal meaning of this word does not essentially refer to any disease such as asthma, this word was first used by hypocrites to mention a state of medical problem.

The spasms of this medical disorder was mostly found to be in tailors, fishermen and workers who worked on metals. After centuries (almost six) a writer Glen revealed bronchial obstruction as the cause of asthma. One more writer wrote about the diagnosis and prevention measurements of asthma.

The relation between asthma and organic dusts was revealed by a writer in 17th century. Bronchodilators came into being in 1901. However, the real culprit that is inflamed airways causing asthma in people was identified during 1960. Thereafter, anti-inflammatory drugs became a part of asthma management plan.

Signs and Symptoms

An intense manifestation of asthmatic symptoms is referred as an asthma attack. The hallmark symptoms of asthma are breathing shortness, wheezing, tightness in chest and coughing. Over and above all, the onset of an asthma attack is absolutely sudden.

The cough that comes out might be having some clear phlegm. The patient feel acute restlessness and a constriction in his/her chest causing difficult breathing. Both the phases of respiration are associated with wheezing. Typical symptoms of asthma can enlisted as:

  • Wheezing
  • Shortness in breathing
  • Delay in expiration
  • High heart beat
  • over inflation of the chest
A serious attack of asthma is incorporated with use of accessory muscles the purpose of respiration which becomes very much explicit while the tissues between the rib and above sternum and clavicles are drawn in. Paradoxical Pulse is another indication of severe asthma attack.

An acute attack cam turn the patient blue in color as his/her body lacks oxygen severely. It might result into lost consciousness and pain in the chest. Cardiac arrest due to an asthma attack can also not be ruled out. A few secondary diseases may also develop between the episodes of asthma attack.

Some fatal diseases are there which are already well recognised and they have made mass of people their victims all around the globe. Asthma is one of them. The prime cause of asthma is narrowness in respiratory tract which leads to breathing shortness, wheezing and coughing. Different triggering agents like allergens and some environmental factors and eating habits are responsible for the development of this disease in human beings.
People of every age are found to be the victims of asthma all over the world. Even younger and new born children are not intact from this dreadful disease.
